Now hiring: Transamerica will add 200 employees this year in downtown Denver

Transamerica Corp. is set to add 200 employees this year in its downtown Denver office.

With the new employees in marketing, distribution, customer care and operations, the company’s workforce will be up to 700 employees in downtown.

In 2015, the Baltimore-based insurance and financial giant moved its metro Denver office from the Tech Center to the 1801 California St. tower, which was once home to Qwest. The move doubled its size and put the company’s moniker up top of the 54-story property.

But even then, the company had not anticipated a need for such a large employee increase.

“Expanding our employee base across these various functions demonstrates our commitment to, and emphasis on, building Denver as one of Transamerica’s primary hubs in providing support to all our business lines across the organization,” said Blake Bostwick, COO. “These new positions also are aimed at supporting our core purpose of helping our customers achieve a lifetime of financial security.”

Nationwide, the company has a workforce of about 9,000. In part, the expansion in Denver is a result of actions the organization is taking to increase its operational efficiencies by closing and consolidating facilities in other areas of the country.
